the half way mark

Today I am officially 20 weeks along in my pregnancy!
It is crazy how fast the first half of the pregnancy has gone. Now that the
sickness is over, I am enjoying every minute of it! There is nothing
more miraculous than feeling little kicks and movements inside of me from our little guy.

Here are some super awkward belly pictures-

(this is me today, at 20 weeks)

Yesterday we got to have our 20 week ultrasound
(usually the only ultrasound done during entire pregnancy)
and little man was being a turkey

A friend told me to drink orange juice before I went in,
as this would help the baby move more.
Well, apparently our little guy REALLY likes orange juice.
He was so active for the first part of the ultrasound it was hard to get any good images.
He was doing flips and rolling over, he was upside down and backward!

Finally our little guy started to hold still, only there was one problem...
he fell asleep in the most awkward position possible. We tried
everything to wake him back up but he wasn't having any part of it.
So, once again, no pictures.

Here is a picture of Rob imitating the position baby fell asleep in:
(he is the best husband ever...)

Here are some of the random pictures we were able to get:

I just think his little foot is the cutest!

This is a picture of him showing us his British side-
he is all ready for his first cup of tea!

Sorry, he wasn't cooperating enough to give us another profile view of him.

All in all, the ultra sound tech said everything was looking good.
He is measuring a week smaller than he should be and so the technician
had some trouble finding his heart outflow tract.
(later to be his aorta, which will carry oxygenated blood out to his body).
She assured me that this is normal when babies are measuring smaller, and
I will have to return in 4 weeks for a second ultrasound.

I'll be honest, I am a little panicked. But Rob assures me everything is fine,
and we see the doctor tomorrow, so hopefully she will do the same.
In the meantime, if anyone has any advice or experience in this area,
do share...

I'll keep praying for our little guy that he grows and is healthy
(Rob on the other hand has no trouble sleeping at night)
Also- maybe don't drink OJ before your ultrasound-
I'm not entirely sure itwas the best idea ever.

daddy-daughter date

This past weekend I was lucky enough to get to
join my dad on his annual Tuachan trip to St. George, just the two of us.
{usually mom goes- but she was busy}

Friday night we went to a big fancy bank dinner where I
accidently bid $1400 for a painting at a live auction.
oops- luckily someone outbid me.
Lesson learned: do not point at hanging umbrellas from the ceiling

Then we got to see Mary Poppins the musical,
it was fabulous but I found myself somehow wishing
Julie Andrews was still Mary.
{she is my hero, after all}

Saturday we shopped 'till we dropped.
{dad's are good at spoiling their daughters,
especially pregnant ones who have no clothes...}

Then we got to see another show, Starlight Express.
If you like roller skates and rock music, this show is totally
up your ally.

I had such a fun time hanging out with my dad
this past weekend- even if the weather was a little.... toasty.

Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!

Rob and I had a wonderful second wedding anniversary! We were able to meet up for lunch (which helped break up the long work day) and then go to dinner!

Rob surprised me with the most beautiful bouquet of my favorite flowers
when I got home from work.

I surprised him with some new Ray Bans-
Oh the benefits of working for eye doctors
(these ones are particularly cool, they fold up until they are the size of one side of the glasses)

Then we went to dinner at my favorite restaurant- PF Chang's.
We even ordered dessert- carmel/chocolate cake.

I can't believe it has already been 2 years!! Time has gone by sooo fast!
I am so grateful for this cute guy and love him to pieces.
I feel so blessed to have him in my life

june 4, 2013

Happy two year anniversary to the most incredible guy I know. Each day I feel so blessed to have him in my life and so lucky that he chose me! I am so grateful for everything that he has done for our little family over the past 2 years and the many sacrifices he has made. Here are just a few things I love most about my guy...

-he spends every second that he can with me. even if this means making baby quilts or baking cakes. he doesn't complain and he even seems happy to be there
-he laughs at my jokes- which is huge because most of the time they aren't funny
-i can count on him for anything, he will be there, no matter what
-i can tell him anything and i know he will say just the right thing to make me feel better
-he is honest with me
-he is brilliantly smart and ridiculously good looking
-he remembers how i like things to be done and does them that way in the future
-he buys me flowers just because
-he constantly makes me laugh and smile
-no job is too big or too little for him
-he never complains (something i can learn from)
-he remembers what is important in life and doesn't sweat the small stuff
-he writes incredible poetry (see image below on our wedding day)

Every day I am incredibly grateful that I get to be married to him. Each day I love him more and more than I ever thought possible. We have been through so much together in the 3 1/2 short years we have known each other, and I am sure there will be many tough times to come; but I couldn't think of anyone else I would rather have by my side. Thank you for being my everything darling, and here is to an eternity together!

all my love- chels
